How to Buy and Sell Ether-1 on Stocks.Exchange

The reason many people use Stocks.Exchange is due to a large number of new coins that are available for trading. Stocks.Exchange also allows for quick exchange listing for relatively unknown coins bring in immediate publicity and tradability.  This is one of the easiest exchanges to use although for some coins, volume may initially be low and the exchange does not have the quickest turnaround times for deposits and withdrawals but they are very quick to respond to support tickets. This guide is meant to be a starting place to help with exchanging all those coins that your mining rigs have been steadily  been accumulating for you and also show you how to exchange Ether1 (ETHO) to BTC/ETH/LTC and then in turn, allow you to exchange for local currency via any of your favorite crypto exchanges.

The first step is to create an account on Stocks.Exchange.  Simply enter your email address and click on the Get Started link in the center of the site and you will be taken to the page below.

Stocks.Exchange uses Google Authentication as their 2-factor authentication.  This is one of the safer 2FA options currently offered by most exchanges.  As with any exchange, there are benefits and risks to every 2FA method so it is a best practice to not leave a lot of your coins sitting in an exchange.  It is typically recommended that you send your coins in, make your exchange and send the coins back out all in a relatively short amount of time.  The coins are then residing in your wallets to which you alone hold the private keys and are much more secure than being on an exchange.  Once you have your account created you are ready to start!

When you are registered, you can log in.  Once you are logged on, you are taken to the promoted coin’s exchange page.  In order to send your coins to the exchange, you have to click on the button with three lines to the left of the screen.

Once you click this button, the following screen pops out for you.

From here you want to click on the link next to wallets that says “Manage.”  From here you can see all of your current available balances and you have the option to deposit or withdraw your coins.  For this example, we are going to send some coins to our Ether-1 Wallet to sell on the exchange.  You can simply type in ETHO for Ether-1’s trading code and you will be taken right to that line on the page.

The first thing you need to do is click on the Deposit link.  Once you click on the button, the option to create a new deposit address will pop up.  It will ask you to confirm and then you have to click on the link that says Deposit Address.  This will then force the site to create your new Ether-1 address on the exchange.

Now you simply need to copy this address and send your ETHO over to your new wallet on the exchange.  Once you send your coins to the exchange you can scroll to the top of the page and click on the Deposits Tab.  All of your pending Deposits are listed here.  After a few minutes, the ETHO you sent to the exchange will show up and display as “processing”.  Stocks.Exchange requires 12 confirmations (method of verifying crypto transactions) before they credit your account with the funds you have sent to the exchange.  Once all of the confirmations are completed you will then have the coins available in your wallet and you can go to the Exchange tab at the top of the page.  Then click on the gears icon on the right side of the page to bring up the search bar.

Start typing ETHO in the search bar and you should see the Ether-1 coin as an option.  Simply click the link and you will be taken to the trading page.

Scroll down and you will see the options for buy and sell.

You can see that you now have some ETHO in your account.  In order to sell this, we can either click the amount or type in the amount we want to sell on the sell side of the webpage.  We can also adjust the price at which we want to sell it at.  They current highest buy price is automatically loaded as the primary option, but this can be set at any amount.  Simply type the price at which you want to sell.  You will see that the amount of the sale listed in grey below the Red Sell button.  When you are satisfied with your settings, simply click the red “Sell ETHO for BTC” button and your order will be automatically listed.  If you set your order at the current highest buy price, the order will be executed and your account will be credited with the BTC from the sale.  They buying of ETHO works exactly the same on the other side of the webpage.  If you decide that you want to cancel your sale or buy order, simply click the link that says “My” below the grey Sell or Buy orders and your current orders will be listed with a red cancel button.  Just click that and your order will be canceled and your funds will be returned to your available balance.

Now you are all set and ready to trade Ether-1 on Stocks.Exchange!
